After dropping the deluxe edition to Slime Language 2, Young Thug and Gunna lent a helping hand to inmates at the Fulton Country Jail in Atlanta this weekend.
WSB-TV reports the two rappers posted bail for 30 inmates Friday, most of which were held on minor offenses and unable to post bond themselves.
“For the people,” wrote Thugger, sharing the news on Instagram.
“This is where we are from,” Young Thug told WSB. “We just woke up and went to the jail with the lawyer and, you know, DAs and all the prosecutors…the bonding companies and just got as many people as we can out.”
WSB-TV also shared video footage from the Young Stoner Life Records artists, which shows over a dozen men and women being embraced by their loved ones upon their release from custody.
“You never know what somebody been through. There was people sitting out three or four years and couldn’t get out on a bond,” said Gunna.
The act of kindness arrives two months after WSB-TV was given an exclusive inside look at the Fulton County Jail, which at the time housed 2,900 inmates, which was 400 over capacity.
In other news, the original Slime Language 2 debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 album chart this week.
