Wendy Williams has addressed fans after her former show DJ commented on her on-air behavior on The Wendy Williams Show.
“I always say I love you for watching because I really, really do,” said Wendy during Monday’s episode. “You know, I come here every day and I try to do the best that I can for you. I appreciate you watching, but, you know, even after all of these years, it’s still work…I guess every day is not perfect, but I’m not a perfectionist. I’m not perfect.”
“I love entertaining you,” she continued, expressing her appreciation for viewers who watch the show. “It’s not easy. You’re a tough crowd.”
Fans were taken back by last Friday’s episode of The Wendy Williams Show, where the 56-year-old host made several erratic pauses during her segment, including mispronouncing Adele‘s name.
Wendy’s statement arrives just one day after The Jasmine Brand found a shocking discovery deep within the Instagram comments.
According to a screenshot, an Instagram account by the name @yerebanks suggested Wendy needed to stop her show and “seriously get help.” Another commenter alleged Williams doesn’t listen to her team, implying, it’s “probably why DJ [Boof] left the show.”
Wendy’s show returned for its 12th season in September, without the daytime show’s longtime fixture, DJ Boof, and no clear mention of why he was axed from the show.
“Yup exactly and it will all come out,” Boof responded, according to the screenshot. “Y’all have no idea what’s really going on and everyone there is afraid to speak up because they don’t wanna lose their jobs. This is going to play out bad. I feel sorry for the workers and victims. Have a blessed day.”
