Monday night’s season premiere of Dancing With the Stars was one you didn’t want to miss.
Disney Channel alum Skai Jackson showed off her incredible moves dancing to Nicki Minaj’s “Super Bass.” Along with her partner Alan Bersten, the 18-year-old actress brought her high energy and flexibility to her Tango performance, along with a split, earning one of the highest scores of the night: 21 out of 30.
“The sky is the limit,” judge Bruno Tonioli told Skai after her impressive performance.
With numbers like this, Skai could be one of the youngest winners in DWTS history and Twitter was buzzing with words of support.
“You killed it,” tweeted Yung Miami of City Girls.
Another stellar performance fans can’t stop talking about is Nelly’s hot salsa performance to his Country Grammar single, “Ride Wit Me.”
Mr. “Young Swivel” himself showed the judges his fancy footwork, wearing a red ensemble during a routine with his partner Daniella Karagach. Their performance opened with the two on the back of a motorcycle, a nod to the song’s music video.
The Grammy-winning rapper even managed to pull off a backflip while wearing retro Jordan sneakers during his performance instead of ballroom dance shoes — all with a smile on his face. Even after all that, the judges rated Nelly and Daniella’s performance a 16 out of 30, prompting boos from what seemed to be virtual viewers.
One fan tweeted, “If Nelly keeps doing the salsa to his own songs he will win the people’s vote.”
Tune in to the next episode of Dancing with the Stars, airing Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
