Silentoallegedly gunned down his cousin, and now he’s facing a murder charge for it.
The “Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)” rapper was arrested Monday for allegedly murdering Frederick Rooks after an investigation into the man’s death … according to the DeKalb County Police Department.
Cops say they found Rooks shot to death in the street on Jan. 21 … and found 8 bullet casings on the scene. Cops say they still don’t have a clear motive behind the shooting.
As for how they connected Silento to the crime, we don’t know for sure … but cops say they obtained Ring camera footage from homes in the area which captured at least one gunshot, and several vehicles fleeing the scene.
As we’ve reported … Silento had a rough 2020, legally speaking. He was arrested back in October after cops said he was driving 143 MPH … and in September, he was arrested and charged with 2 felony counts of assault with a deadly weapon for allegedly threatening people with a hatchet.
He’s currently being held in DeKalb County Jail. We’ve reached out to his camp … so far, radio silence.
Silento thinks his race motivated a cop to pull him over for reckless driving, and video shows he was ticked off police didn’t realize he’s famous — so famous President Trump blows up his phone. Allegedly.
The “Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)” rapper’s bold claims are coming out now on body cam footage of his arrest last week, when he was allegedly flying down a highway in Dekalb County, Georgia at 143 MPH!!!
Silento immediately told the cop he didn’t do anything wrong, and challenges the legitimacy of the cop’s radar gun. He insists, initially, he wasn’t going that fast, but later concede he was speeding.
You gotta see his excuse though … something about making a getaway from a bunch of fans following him from a club appearance for his new track, “DXB Money.”
Gotta give him credit for promoting his record even as he was about to be arrested.
As we first told you … this didn’t fly with cops, and he was taken to jail, where he started hurling accusations at the cops. Silento accused one of spitting on him, and another of being racist.
The wildest comment though is about the President … who Silento claims leaves daily messages on his phone asking for his help. He doesn’t elaborate, but it sounds like he’s getting election season robocalls — or maybe he and POTUS really are tight.
Silento was eventually booked for 1 count of exceeding the speed limit, 1 count failure to maintain lane, 1 count of reckless driving and 1 count of improper stopping.
His latest run-in with the law comes on the heels of being charged in with assault with a deadly weapon for a bizarre hatchet incident.

Silento allegedly got loud and threatened people with a hatchet while trying to find his girlfriend … and now he’s facing felony charges.
The “Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)” rapper was arrested last weekend after a bizarre incident in which law enforcement sources tell us … he walked into a house with a hatchet in hand as he looked for his GF.
We’re told someone in the house screamed for help and others took him down and disarmed him. Our sources say shortly afterward, Silento’s friend arrived and told him it was the wrong house … and they fled as cops were called.
Police caught up with the rapper, though, and took him to jail. He’s now officially been hit with 2 felony counts of assault with a deadly weapon.
Silento’s still being held on a $250k bond.
Silento‘s so famous he needed to drive 143 MPH to lose 10 cars following him after leaving the club … at least that’s what cops claim the rapper told them when they busted him.
The “Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)” rapper was arrested Friday around 3 AM in DeKalb, County Georgia after cops claim they clocked his 2020 BMW X3 sports SUV doing 143 MPH on Interstate-85, which is a 65 MPH zone.
According to the police report, obtained by TMZ, cops say they observed the car slowing down, changing lanes and swerving before pulling it over. Cops say when they approached the SUV, Silento rolled down the window, handed the cop his driver’s license and said, “We ain’t do nothing wrong.”
The cop begged to differ … telling the rapper his radar gun clocked him driving at dangerous speeds. Cops say when they asked him why he was driving so fast, Silento pulled the famous card and said “people be following me everywhere I go.”
