Although there’s roughly 25 days to go until Halloween, some people already have Christmas on the brain.  Just ask Usher, who released his festive new single “This Day,” which will appear in the upcoming Netflix holiday movie Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey.

The film, and its accompanying soundtrack that will feature Usher’s song, both drop November 13.

The rhythmic holiday tune is not only rife with Christmas bells and uplifting lyrics, it also features the vocal talents of Kiana Ledé.

The song explores the defiant attitude of standing for what’s right despite the challenges that block the way.

“Even though life’s been knocking me down/ I have to figure it out/ See my way through the doubt/ And when it seems I’m lost/ Turn and found my way,” Usher sings as the single focuses on his inner strength before arriving at the song’s title as he triumphantly expresses, “What I got in my hands/ Could be the spark/ Turns it all around/ Could this be happening now?/ All my life I’ve waited for this day.”

In addition to the new single, Netflix officially unveiled the trailer for their exciting new holiday movie that arrives next month.

The movie, which stars Forest WhitakerKeegan-Michael Key and newcomer Madalen Mills, is being hailed as “a wholly fresh and spirited family holiday event.”

The movie centers upon Whitaker’s character, the legendary toymaker Jeronicus Jangle, who is wronged by his apprentice (Key,) who seals his prized creation.

His granddaughter, played by Mills, takes it upon herself to save the day and teams up with “a long-forgotten invention” to “reawaken the magic within.”

Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey, whose moral centers upon the strength of family, was written and directed by David E. Talbert.

The movie will also feature original songs by John LegendPhilip Lawrence and Davy Nathan.
