Last week, Governor Desantis’ administration blocked African American Studies from being taught in high schools.
In a letter last week to the Florida College Board, the state education department said:
“As presented, the content of this course is inexplicably contrary to Florida law and significantly lacks educational value, in the future, should College Board be willing to come back to the table with lawful, historically accurate content, (the education department) will always be willing to reopen the discussion”
That prompted the (according to his verified Twitter account) founder of Southern Hip-Hop, Luther “Uncle Luke” Campbell to go to Twitter and thank the Governor.

Luke says thanks to Governor Desantis, now black parents will have to teach their children about Black History instead of it being taught by others. I still don’t agree with the move of removing Black History from the curriculum, but if this makes parents engage more with their children and teach them what they know about Black History, I’m for it!
