Tory Lanez is ready to share his side of what went down in the Hollywood Hills on the night of July 12th, when Megan Thee Stallion was shot in both of her feet.
TMZ reports Tory, who previously received a protective order not to share information about the case, has filed new court documents in order to defend himself.
According to the docs, Tory, whose legal name is Daystar Peterson, claims to have proof that disputes some of Megan’s previous claims, including “evidence of gunshot residue implicating others.”
This news comes after Megan implied Tory was an “abuser” on Twitter, claiming he and his team “figure[d] out ways to create doubt with my story every week and the media eats it up.”
As previously reported, Megan admitted to being shot as she was exiting a vehicle accompanied by her former friend Kelsey, Lanez and his bodyguard. She has repeatedly named Lanez as the person who shot her in both feet after an argument, which resulted in her having surgery.
Lanez pled not guilty after being charged with “assaulting a female friend” by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office last November.
Though Megan’s name was not listed in the court documents, Lanez was specifically charged with one felony count each of assault with a semiautomatic firearm – personal use of a firearm – and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle. He also faces a “gun allegation and that he personally inflicted great bodily injury.”
Lanez has maintained his innocence and denied shooting Megan on his latest album, DAYSTAR. If convicted at his next hearing on Feb. 25, he faces a maximum prison sentence of 22 years and eight months.
