POLK COUNTY, Fla. —

A man kicked open a door to a Polk County, Florida, home and stole Christmas presents Monday morning, according to authorities.

“He’s a grinch,” Sheriff Grady Judd said.

Judd said the man stole packages from under the tree. The packages were gifts for the two children who live in the home, who are ages 8 and 11.

The sheriff said the man also stole the woman’s work laptop and a 36-inch television, making several trips in and out of the house.

According to authorities, the man stole around $1,600 worth of items from the home.

“This is called the Grinch from 2021 with eggnog brain. We want him in jail,” Judd said.

Judd said the goal is to recover the Christmas presents but said if that doesn’t happen Polk County Charities will work with the victims.

“I want (the suspect) to wake up in the county jail for Christmas. Give me that for my Christmas present,” Judd said.
