Protesters Gather In Nashville Calling For The Reinstatement Of Expelled Lawmakers
NASHVILLE, TN – APRIL 10: State Rep. Justin Jones of Nashville speaks outside the Capitol on April 10, 2023 in Nashville, Tennessee. The Democrat was reinstated days after being expelled for leading a protest on the House floor for gun reform in the wake of a mass shooting at a Christian school in which three 9-year-old students and three adults were killed by a 28-year-old former student on March 27. Democratic lawmaker Justin Jones was reinstated to the Tennessee House yesterday after being expelled last week.

Jones, Justin Pearson,  and a white lawmaker were removed from their posts for a peaceful protest against gun violence.

The decision met tons of controversy when the House voted to keep the only white protester, Justin Pearson the other black lawmaker who is expected to be reinstated tomorrow.
