Nigerian superstar Tiwa Savage has shared her new single, “Temptation,” featuring pop star Sam Smith.
The sultry Afrobeat duet brings a summer-fun vibe to the tale of a forbidden love story on the track written by both artists, along with Fireboy DML.
The track will appear on Savage’s upcoming album, Celia. Named after her mother, it will also feature her singles “Dangerous Love,” “Koroba,” and “Attention,” and guest appearances from Davido, Stefflon Don, Naira Marley and others.
Earlier this year, Tiwa Savage was featured in Beyoncé’s visual album Black Is King, based on the soundtrack to The Lion King: The Gift. During a recent interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, Tiwa called it a “blessing” to be able to bring African culture to mainstream audiences, calling Afrobeats “the fastest-growing genre.”
“It’s a blessing to live and witness both, to see how it went from not being cool to being one of the most sought-after genres,” said Savage, who’s featured on the Black Is King single “KEYS TO THE KINGDOM.”
“And not just that, the music is shining a different light on the continent,” she continued. “So many people have the wrong impression of Africa. And now having huge legends like Beyoncé doing a movement such as Black Is King, and shining just a different light on my continent, it’s just amazing.”
Celia arrives Friday, August 28th.
