Tamar Braxton is hyped about releasing her first full-length album since 2017’s Bluebird of Happiness.
On Tuesday, the singer and reality TV star shared a video of herself singing her single, “Love and War,” and dropped a hint about what to expect from her upcoming project.
“And 8 years later…you sing it like it came out yesterday. I’m so grateful to God,” Braxton wrote on Instagram. “Thank y’all for this weekend…No that we are outside just like @bet…’we got you.’ This new project is the best music EVER.”
The video was taken from Braxton’s headlining performance at NeNe Leakes‘ new lounge, The Linnethia, in Atlanta on Saturday.
“Love and War” received two Grammy nominations — Best R&B Performance and Best R&B Song. It served as the lead single from Braxton’s 2013 album, Love and War, which itself was nominated for Best Urban Contemporary Album.
2021 has been about reflection and growth for Tamar, who went through a public breakup with businessman David Adefeso months after being hospitalized last July. As previously reported, Adefeso found Tamar “unconscious” in their hotel room at the Ritz Carlton in downtown Los Angeles on July 16. The Braxton Family Values star was later hospitalized and treated for depression at a mental health facility.
Braxton recently told Entertainment Tonight her new music will “for sure heal your soul and that’s what I’m here for.”
