R&B divas Keyshia Cole and Ashanti exchanged some playful banter last week in the comments of DMX and Snoop Dogg’s Verzuz battle on Instagram Live.

And now, as Chris Brown “humbly” declines the offer to challenge Usher, fans on social media have now moved on to anticipating a potential battle between the two singers.

“I love Chris brown but he not winning no [Verzuz] against Usher just like Keyshia Cole not winning against Ashanti. It’s something about that old music that’s unmatched,” one fan tweeted.

Keyshia and Ashanti previously collaborated on Keyshia’s 2012 single “Woman to Woman.” Both of their careers peaked in the early 2000s, with each woman earning multiple Grammy nominations and dozens of accolades for their many chart-topping hits.

But Ashanti is the only Grammy winner in this conversation: She won Best Contemporary R&B Album for her 2002 self-titled debut, released on Ja Rule‘s Murder Inc. label.

“Ashanti I’m sorry they sleep on y and have the nerve to put u, The Queen of Murder Inc against somebody like Keyshia Cole,” one fan tweeted.

Another pondered, “What Ashanti gonna do when Keyshia play this hit?,” sharing a clip from rapper OT Genasis, who remixed Keyshia’s 2006 hit “Love.”

Others suggested that a much more entertaining battle would feature Ashanti and singer Mya, with one adding, “now that makes more sense I would love to see that.”
