KJ is a seasoned veteran with a polished sound, poised style, down-home sense of humor and a stunning personality. It’s no wonder why she has earned her right as one of the best in the industry.

A native of Louisville, KY., she started out as a receptionist at a local radio station. Her great voice and friendly personality got her noticed by management and led her to becoming a part time DJ.

After an impressive on-air debut, she was quickly promoted to Middays on the #1 urban station in the Louisville Market. KJ’s career took off from there as she rapidly advanced to Music Director, then Assistant Program Director, and eventually earning the honor of becoming the first African American Female to program three urban radio properties simultaneously.

KJ’s career also had stops in South Carolina, North Carolina, Denver, even a “full-circle moment” landing in her hometown of Louisville once more and a second stop in Dallas after more than eight successful years of being in the top five market.  KJ has literally made “lightning strike” twice in the same spots.

Possessing a deep commitment to her community, KJ has volunteered countless hours and served diligently on various boards. Her collected passions include working with the homeless, helping under-privileged youth, an advocate and supporter when it comes to raising awareness to find a cure for breast cancer, and assisting at battered women’s shelters.

Amassing an impressive track record, Ms. Bland has been honored by countless organizations for her contributions both to the community and profession.  She’s been recognized by The YMCA as a two-time recipient of The Adult Achiever of the Year, The Midwest Radio and Records Association, The Community and Church Living Legends, Blue Chip Broadcasting Personality of the Year, 10 Shades of Success Recipient, “Who’s Who In Black Dallas” and featured in many national trade publications for her outstanding work. Ms. Bland also founded “Midday Enterprises”‘, “Aircheck Concierge” to coach on air radio talent and “Hey Girl Nation”, an organization started to empower, entertain and inspire women from across the world.

KJ is also the owner of “KJ’s Kitchen Kreations” and the owner of a mobile coffee catering business, “Smooth Vibes Mobile Latte Bar”, as well as “KJ’s Kloset” an upscale resale boutique that allows women in the community, to dress for success while seeking employment.
