
The Bay Area rapper says fans will want to “two-step” to her single, “Back To The Streets” and get “super turn[t] up” when she performs “Tap In.”
“Both those songs are definitely big vibes,” she tells ABC Audio. “I’m so happy that I[‘m] able to [bring] that diversity.”
2020’s been a successful year for the 26-year-old especially after “Tap In” landed in the top 10 on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs chart. After its release in July, the song also topped Billboard’snew Top Triller U.S. & Global Charts.
Saweetie believes it’s a major accomplishment to perform her highest-chart single since 2019’s “My Type” on a show she grew up watching as a child.
“The fact that I’m on a New Year’s celebration show is just everything to me and it makes me feel accomplished,” she adds.
Another newcomer will also be making her debut on the annual NYRE show: “Like That” rapper Doja Cat.
“I love her so much,” gushes Saweetie. “She has great energy. She’s a superstar and I love her. I hope she has a great performance.”
“Tap In” to Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest, which starts tonight at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
