The Florida Department of Transportation announced Friday that the northbound Roosevelt Bridge will be reopening Saturday morning at 10 a.m.
It will be open to four lanes of car traffic, two in each direction, according to FDOT. There will be a 5-ton weight restriction upon reopening.
The bridge was shut down last week after engineers found cracks in the bridge during a routine inspection. Pieces of concrete fell onto NW Dixie Highway below. Severe corrosion also “ruptured” a key part of the bridge that helps maintain its strength.
The closure had also prompted a local state of emergency for the City of Stuart.
