Riviera Beach’s Athletic Director’s Past, May Affect Pop Warner Play

Former NFL player and Riviera Beach native Abram Elam is being questioned by the Pop Warner football league about his past.

 

Elam, a registered sex offender who received a sexual battery conviction involving a young woman while he was attending Notre Dame in 2002, serves as the city’s athletic director.

 

WPBF-Channel 25 reports that after Elam signed a contract with the city he was reported to Pop Warner.

 

Elam says he’s not dealing with kids day to day or with individuals day to day.

 

“I’m giving an oversight and direction of how things should operate,”
