Dr. Dre‘s nasty divorce battle rages on, with the rap mogul now being ordered to pay his ex-wife $500,000.
British publication Daily Mail reports that the “I Need a Doctor” artist was ordered by a Los Angeles Superior Court judge to pay Nicole Young the large sum of money to help cover her legal fees. However, the $500k is a pittance of the real amount requested by his ex-wife.
Court documents find that Young originally requested to be paid $5 million to cover costs.
The judge gave Dre 10 days to satisfy the order.
As for another bone of contention in the court battle, the judge announced he will wait on deciding on how much spousal support Young will receive.
Young is fighting for $2 million a month.
Until a judge decides on the appropriate amount, the Grammy winner has agreed to help cover his ex-wife’s mortgage on their Malibu home, as well as her mother’s mortgage. However, he stopped short at covering the cost of her security and, instead, told her to use the $2 million in temporary support he provided her back in January to cover the bills.
If that wasn’t enough, Dre and Young are still clashing over the prenuptial agreement they signed before getting hitched — with the Beats Electronics mogul wanting the prenup enforced while Young claims he tore it up during their marriage.
The two wed in 1996 and share two children together, Truice Young, 24, and Truly Young, 20. Dre is the father of six other children of whom he had in previous relationships.
