In a shocking turn of events, Ray J — the famous ex of Kim Kardashian — has filed for divorce from wife Princess Love.

People confirms that Ray J — real name William Ray Norwood Jr. — is seeking joint custody of their two children, two-year-old Melody Love and nine month old Epik Ray.

Their laywer has not responded to requests for comment at this time.

However, this development is just one of many twists and turns in the couple’s marriage.  Trouble started brewing last November when Princess accused her husband of leaving her “stranded” in Las Vegas and threatened him with divorce.

Norwood denied her claims.

Love then filed for divorce in May but, in July, asked the court to dismiss her request.  It should be noted that Norwood did not respond to the legal documents at the time.

A representative contacted People at the time and announced, “It’s a very difficult time for both Princess and Ray J and we are asking that we just let them have their privacy as they work through and deal with this very trying situation.”

Things appeared to be on the mend shortly after the request for dismissal was made, with the Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood star writing a touching tribute to his wife on her birthday.

“I’m so happy and blessed to spend today with you and our family,” he wrote on August 14. “God is the greatest!”

The two wed in 2016.
