Less is more when it comes to how Quavo put the moves on Saweetie.
In a tweet on Wednesday, the Migos rapper unveiled the pickup line the landed him his now girlfriend. The 29-year-old shared a screenshot of their first conversation alongside a picture of the couple together.
“HOW I PULLED UP: HOW WE COMING,” he wrote.
The screenshot revealed that the first message sent her — in March 2018 — was the snowflake emoji, a reference to her single “Icy Girl.”
In response, Saweetie sent back the emoji of a bowl of noodles, a reference to his single “Stir Fry.”
Quavo then dropped his pick-up line, “U so icy Ima glacier boy,” to which the “Tap In” rapper asked, “was hannin [sic] then.”
And the rest is history.
While that pick-up line may have worked for Quavo, his fans don’t seem to be having as much success with it.
Replies to the tweet were flooded with screenshots of failed attempts of others trying to mimic his success with their own crushes.
One Twitter user, for example, shared the results of their efforts only to end up blocked by the other person.
It wasn’t all bad though another user found that it actually worked, when the recipient of the messages played along.
“Quavo , this… still works!!! Thanks fam,” the person tweeted along with a snapshot of his exchange.
