For many hard-working individuals and families in our community, putting food on the table is hard every day. During the holidays, it’s even harder. Project Thanksgiving is on a mission to help.

On Friday, CBS12 News and the United Way of Palm Beach County teamed up for a virtual telethon. Team members will be ready to answer your call, accepting donations to be used to buy grocery store gift cards and food so families across the area can enjoy a warm meal this holiday season.

The 30-year collaboration comes at a time when the need for hunger relief is greater than ever with many families finding themselves in difficult situations due to the impact of the pandemic.

The virtual bank will be open from 6 a.m. through 7 p.m.

The number to call is 561-364-3245 or you can text THANKSUW to 41444

You can also make a difference by donating food or hosting a food drive.

So far, over 20 local businesses are hosting food drives for Project Thanksgiving.

Just $20 can feed a family of four.
