The United Way of Palm Beach County are teaming up for the 30th year for Project Thanksgiving. The annual partnership comes during a time when the need for hunger relief is greater than ever due to the pandemic.
The United Way of Palm Beach County and its network of hunger-relief partners are uniting resources daily to help provide meals, infrastructure to get food to our hungry neighbors, and affordable produce, but the need is always greater around the holidays.
Project Thanksgiving aims to raise money and collect food donations to make sure every family in Palm Beach County has a warm meal on their table this holiday season.
With the money raised, grocery store gift cards will be purchased so families can do their own shopping.
“Project Thanksgiving is really special in that the moms, the dads, they get to actually go purchase food and select the food of their choosing,” said Laurie George, the CEO of United Way of Palm Beach County. “They may have a special recipe that’s really important to them at the holidays and this gives them the flexibility to put that meal together and bond with her family.”
There are several ways you can make a difference and donate to Project Thanksgiving; online, text to give and by hosting a virtual or in person food drive.
A donation of $20 can feed a family of four.
Last year, Project Thanksgiving raised over $50,000, helping to feed thousands of families.
