LaToya Tonodeo is getting to live a life-long dream as part of the new Power spinoff, Power Book II: Ghost

“I have always been a Power fan,” Tonodeo tells ABC Audio. “Like, I even had it on my vision board.”

“[But] I never got that Power audition,” she reveals. “So, I was like, “OK. You know, maybe one day.”

Well that “one day” didn’t take long for Tonodeo who says she eventually got an “email from [her] team” about Power Book II: Ghost.”

“I didn’t exactly know… who’s going to be involved or anything,” Tonodeo says. “But I just knew that it was with Courtney Kemp and 50 Cent, so I’m like, ‘Listen, I’m going to put my all into it.'”

And that she did, eventually getting that long-awaited “call from [her] team.”

“So usually when they’re all on the line, it’s either really good news or bad news,” she says.

“So I’m like, ‘OK, what’s going on?,'” Tonodeo continues. “Then they tell me that I booked it.”

Tonodeo, who was ultimately cast as Diana Tejada, the daughter of the Tejada crime family, says even though she tried to play it cool on the phone, her raw emotions go the best of her.

“As soon as I hung up the phone, I just cried and cried and cried,” she says.”Even thinking about it makes me emotional because it’s such a blessing.”

Now, with the second season renewal of Power Book II, Tonodeo admits she’s even more excited.

“The cast mates were all texting each other, just sending each other so much love,” she says, recalling everyone’s response to the news. “We’re only three episodes in and it’s already official.  I’m still trying to take in the high of like… THIS.”

Power Book II: Ghost airs Sunday nights at 9 p.m. ET. on Starz.
