PJ Morton has joined forces with fellow soul singers BJ The Chicago Kid, Kenyon Dixon and Charlie B. Real to recreate Sam Cooke’s 1962 classic “Bring it on Home to Me.”
On Thursday, Morton shared the song’s cover art, which finds all four singers in a hotel room, similar to a scene in the Oscar-nominated film, One Night in Miami.
“Linked up with my bros on this Sam Cooke classic. Some soul for your soul,” Morton wrote on Instagram.
Fans are excited about the soulful collaboration, sharing dozens of fire emojis and praise hands in the post’s comments. “How much greatness can we squeeze in one hotel room,” wrote R&B singer Melanie Fiona, while one fan, said, “We need this. Thanks PJ.”
“Bring it on Home to Me” drops at midnight.
One Night in Miami is based on Kemp Powers‘ stage play of the same name and focuses on a fictional meeting at a Miami hotel between Sam Cooke, Malcolm X, Jim Brown, and Muhammad Ali following the boxer’s 1964 win against Sonny Liston. The film stars Leslie Odom, Jr., Eli Goree, Aldis Hodge, and Kingsley Ben-Adir.
