Some of today’s biggest rap artists are teaming up with fellow rap legends that came before them to release new music.
T.I. has teamed up with Young Thug for his new song, “Ring,” which he earlier this month dubbed an “instant classic.”
The two Atlanta rappers have previously collaborated on 2014’s “About the Money” and “I Need War,” as well as “Off-Set” from the Furious 7 soundtrack. Most recently, Thugger was featured on 2018’s “The Weekend” from T.I.’s latest album, Dime Tap.
T.I. has been anything but quiet after recently announcing a forthcoming role on the CBS All Access drama Twenty Four Seven, executive produced by 50 Cent. He also made a guest appearance on Nasty C’s “They Don’t.”
Trippie Redd tapped Flipmode squad veteran Busta Rhymes for his new single and video for “I Got You.” The track samples Busta’s 2002 classic, “I Know What You Want,” with Mariah Carey.
“Congrats young king on the amazing piece of work and being apart of a 17-year-old story/legacy of me,” Busta wrote in appreciation on Instagram of the song he calls “legendary.”
Meanwhile, NBA Young Boy recruited rap O.G.’s Lil Wayne and Snoop for features on his new album, Top. The Lousiana rapper may only be 20 years old but he’s been making waves for a few years now, especially in the last few months.
NBA also nabbed his second #1 on the Billboard 200 chart with his April release, 38 Baby 2, following 2019’s AI YoungBoy 2, which also debuted in the top spot on that chart.
