Nas is back in the studio crafting another hot collaboration with his King of Disease producer Hit-Boy.
On Monday, the legendary rapper shared a video of himself in the studio with Complex Music‘s 2020 Best Producer Alive. “E.P.M.D.” this Friday Nas x Hit-Boy,” Nas wrote in the caption on Instagram.
The “E.M.P.D.” title pays homage to legendary rap duo, Erick Sermon and Parrish Mic Doc, also known asEPMD. The video previews Nas’ new song, on which he raps about social media apps including Facebook and ClubHouse and name drops late legends such as Notorious B.I.G and Huey P. Newton.
“E.P.M.D. we back to business / I visualize what it is not what it isn’t / We at the mafia table next to the kitchen / Eating Michelin stars, countin’ the millions,” Nas raps.
By Tuesday, Nas confirmed the track will be appear on Judas and the Black Messiah: The Inspired Album, the soundtrack to the film of the name title. “Where’s there’s people, there’s power,” Nas wrote on Instagram, sharing the news.
Fans are in for a real treat with the Judas and the Black Messiah soundtrack, which also features appearances from Black Thought, Masego, Rhapsody, Kiana Ledé, Dom Kennedy, Polo G, A$AP Rocky, and Chicago staples such as G Herbo, Lil Durk, and singer/songwriter BJ The Chicago Kid.
The soundtrack also features H.E.R.‘s “Fight for You” anthem, as well as another track titled “What It Feels Like,” with rap legend Jay-Z and the late Nipsey Hussle.
Judas and the Black Messiah arrives on HBO Max Friday.
