Since Barack Obama‘s initial presidential inauguration in 2009, his wife, Michelle Obama has transformed into a fashion and style icon. And twelve years later, social media fans are still left drooling over her many First Lady looks and hairstyles, especially at President-elect Joe Biden‘s inauguration ceremony Wednesday morning.
Even while wearing a mask, Michelle stood out in her plum-colored coat, matching turtle neck and pants to complement her shiny, bouncing hair, which dominated the conversation on Twitter.
One fan wrote, “Michelle got more bounce to the ounce with this hair,” while sports commentator Jemele Hill said, “I found my joy. It was Michelle Obama’s hair. COME THROUGH CURLS AND VOLUME.”
“Someone needs to make a Twitter for Michelle Obama hair because on TA DAY… child. No games were played,” wrote another fan.
Fans also noticed Obama was a lot more dolled up than the slick middle part bun she wore during former President Donald Trump‘s inauguration in 2017. “Michelle Obama’s hair is a political statement. And I’m here for it. 2017 vs. 2021,” wrote one fan.
Meanwhile, others were overwhelmed with her entire look, writing, “I am obsessed with Michelle Obama‘s outfit and hair. Flawless.”
For this historic event, Michelle Obama looked to Black designer Sergio Hudson, and the first female and first Black Vice President, Kamala Harris wore a stunning purple coat by Black designer Christopher John Rogers.
Now, that is how you enter the White House!
