Miami Beach police brought in DaBaby for questioning following a shooting on Monday that left two people wounded. One of the victims was critically injured.
The Miami Herald reports that the six-time Grammy nominated rapper was released hours later. Two individuals have since been charged.
Police say DaBaby, whose real name is Jonathan Lyndale Kirk, was “one of the many individuals” the department questioned.
“Arrest details and subject information will be shared once reports are completed,” Police spokesperson Officer Ernesto Rodriguez said in a statement. “We are incredibly proud of our officers, detectives, and crime scene investigators for their efforts in this complex investigation.”
Neither the identity of the suspects nor the victims have been released.
DaBaby, 29, has not referenced the incident on social media nor has he addressed why he was included in the police investigation.
The rapper had been at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium to perform at a private event Monday night that he says was attended by “10,000+” people.
