Megan Thee Stallion booked, busy, and unbothered.
Over the weekend, the “Savage” rapper shared an Instagram video of herself hugging and dancing with the legendary Mary J. Blige.
“Mary and Megan with thee good knees,” Megan captioned the video, while Mary’s 1997 single, “I Can Love You” featuring Lil Kim played in the background. “She said come get on the yacht,” Megan wrote over a separate video posted on her Instagram story.
The moment brings Megan full circle, after Mary mentioned her along with Nicki Minaj, Cardi B and Lil Kim as one of rap’s female trailblazers. “This is what they do. Respect them,” Mary said during an interview on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen earlier this month.
In the late 90s, of course, Kim helped set that precedent for female rappers with her sexually explicit lyrics and no-holds barred demeanor in a heavily male-dominated industry.
On Instagram, Megan also debuted samples to her latest clothing collaboration with Fashion Nova to give the tall hotties a special denim line. The “WAP” rapper is also slated to appear on the upcoming season premiere of Saturday Night Live on October 3, hosted by Chris Rock.
