Mary J. Blige is set to appear on Wednesday’s episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Blige will likely discuss her legendary career as the Queen of Hip-Hip Soul and R&B and her upcoming Amazon documentary, Mary J. Blige’s My Life, which premieres on June 25.
The Vanessa Roth-directed documentary, which is named after Mary’s 1994 sophomore album, My Life, will reveal some of the darkest moments in the singer’s life at that time. The album earned a Grammy nomination for Best R&B album, and spawned hits like “You Bring Me Joy,” “Mary’s Joint” and “I’m Goin’ Down.”
Blige celebrated the 26th anniversary of My Life last November with a re-release filled with stories of commentary about her life to set the tone for her influential career.
The Late Show with Stephen Colbert airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m ET on CBS.
