Mary J. Blige is making her final preparations for Sunday’s Super Bowl halftime show with Dr. Dre, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar and Snoop Dogg, and she predicts their performance will be historic.

“This thing is the most epic thing in music…history,” The Queen of Hip Hop Soul said Tuesday on Good Morning America. “LA is never gonna ever be the same. I watched the rehearsals…I had goosebumps watching it.”

Brought together by Jay-Z, NFL strategic entertainment advisor for the halftime show, this will be the first time the five superstars will share a stage.

“It’s some history,” the “Be Happy” singer continued. “It’s a celebration of how far hip hop has come, how far R&B has come, how far, you know, music and our culture.”

Mary previously performed at the 2001 Super Bowl with NSYNC and Aerosmith, and she says Sunday’s performance will rise to another level.

“It’s gonna go through the sky,” the Power Book II: Ghost star commented. “You know how they say, ‘Sky’s the limit?’ There’s no limit on this sky.”

In addition to starring in the halftime show, Mary will also appear in a Super Bowl commercial for Hologic focusing on women’s health and the importance of mammograms.

“Women, we do so much, but a lot of us forget to take care of ourselves,” the nine-time Grammy winner said about the purpose of the commercial.

This Friday, Mary will release her 14th solo album, Good Morning Gorgeous.

Meanwhile, as the world continues to cope with the pandemic and racial tensions, she says she hopes the halftime performance will offer people a positive boost.

“We focus on uplifting the people with the music…the beauty and the fashion, and bringing them back to a place where we can all come together,” Blige said.
