This is heartbreaking.
On Tuesday (August 24), Kid Cudi shared the devastating news that his beloved dog Freshie has passed away. In a lengthy statement on Twitter, the 37-year-old rapper paid tribute to his “best friend” and “guardian angel.”
“I got some sad news y’all. Freshie is gone,” Cudi informed his fans. “He left us a few days ago peacefully at home surrounded by people that love him, his family. I held his hand and whispered in his ear to let him know I was there while he slipped away. I told him he was a special boy, my best friend, that he was perfect and that I love him and I’ll miss him so, so much.”
Cudi recalled bringing Freshie into his life to help him become more comfortable around the dogs on the set of To Make It In America. “At the time, I had no idea I’d have such a best friend in my life,” Cudi continued. “He’s been here for 11 years and my life has been one hell of a rollercoaster this whole time. Freshie was with me through it all, every day. He loved me. He really did. He came up and licked me if I was crying, he loved to lay in bed with me, he was always by my side or close by. He was my [guardian] angel.”
