Kenan Thompson holds the record for the longest-tenured cast member on Saturday Night Live with 17 seasons under his belt, but that doesn’t mean he’s thinking of calling it quits anytime soon. 

In fact, Thompson tells Variety that while he has a number of seasons he’s aiming for with SNL, what’s most important is his family. 

“I have a certain number I would love to get to,” he shared. “I think 20 is a good, round, even number that I’m close to. I feel like that is in reach, but also it would be respected if I don’t get there. Like, 18 is fine, 19 is fine. It doesn’t really matter. What matters is, will I have time for my family? There’s only 24 hours in a day.”

Thompson has been married to his wife, Christina Evangeline, since 2011. Together they have two daughters Georgia, 6, and Gianna, 2.
