Kanye West is responding to Saturday Night Live taking a swipe at his presidential campaign over the weekend.
During the “Your Vote Chicago” morning show sketch, Issa Rae used the “Heartless” rapper as the punchline for a joke.
The rapper’s name comes up twice during the bit. Once when the Insecure star’s character says that she’s voting for “everybody black” except for Kanye, and again, at the end of the clip when Kenan Thompson‘s character makes an announcement.
“When we come back, we’ll talk about the presidential race between Donald Trump, Joe Biden, and Kanye West,” Thompson‘s character said, to which Rae’s character added: “Kanye? F him!”
On Sunday, the Yeezy designer sounded off in a tweet, acknowledging the joke.
“Ive always said SNL uses black people to hold other black people back,” he began. “My heart goes out to Issa Rae I’m praying for her and her family.”
“I know that the twenty years of service that I’ve paid in the entertainment field has furthered our ability to be more successful,” he added.
