- An emotional Jussie Smollett spoke with Good Morning America’s Robin Roberts about the attack on him in Chicago.
- Smollett said that not only is he “pissed off” at his attackers and at people who think that he made the story up.
- He discussed why he was hesitant in calling police after the incident. Smollett said, “We live in a society where as a gay man, you are considered, somehow, to be weak. And I’m not weak. I am not weak. And we — as people — are not weak.”
- As for not giving his cell phone to police, Smollett said it was a matter of privacy. The investigators wanted his phone for “three to four hours” and because of his private videos, pictures and confidential phone numbers, Smollett said he wasn’t going to do it.
