Jermaine Dupri is inviting producers to enter a new competition to win a recording contract with his label, So So Def Records.
The Songwriters Hall of Fame member and Grammy winner has partnered with Remy Martin for season six of Remy Producers, a program that discovers aspiring music producers.
"Remy Producers is a program I strongly believe in because it supports emerging music producers and creatives by providing a platform for them to be seen and heard," Dupri says. "Through this program, Remy Martin supports revealing the excellence of music production through the ever-evolving music industry."
Dupri appeared at the kickoff event held Wednesday night at the Live Nation headquarters in Manhattan. He'll select the winner, who will earn a five-song contract with his label. JD will also work on one of those songs.
The contest began Thursday, with producers invited to submit their music via RemyProducers.com. There will be regional competitions in Los Angeles, New York City, Chicago and Miami, and the grand finale will be held in Dupri’s hometown, Atlanta, Georgia.
The Remy Producers program will next expand internationally to South Africa, Nigeria, Trinidad, Jamaica, Puerto Rico and the Bahamas.
