Rapper Jeremih remains hospitalized and his condition has been listed as “critical,” says his agent.
News broke on Saturday that the “Don’t Tell ’em” artist, whose real name is Jeremy Felton, had contracted COVID-19 and was sent to the hospital. Shortly after, big names in the music industry, like 50 Cent and Big Sean, began their prayers for his swift recovery.
After spending days in the ICU, Jeremih’s agent told Variety on Thursday that the rapper is not yet out of the woods.
“J was just pulled off the ventilator,” his rep said. “He’s still in ICU in critical condition.”
In a separate statement to Deadline, his agent relayed, “The COVID-19 condition he’s experiencing is rare for a young man his age without underlying conditions. There’s no shame in contracting COVID-19, and people that have it need to be responsible and considerate of others. Everyone diagnosed with COVID-19 is affected differently. Unfortunately for Jeremih, COVID-19 viciously attacked his body.”
No further information is available at this time regarding his current condition or expected recovery.
Jeremih rose to fame in 2009 following his breakout hit “Birthday Sex.” He was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2016 for Best R&B performance for “Planez.”
His latest song was released in 2018, “MihTy,” which featured Ty Dolla $ign.
