Jay-Z collabs with Long Island University to form School of Music, Sports & Entertainment

Jay-Z‘s Roc Nation is teaming up with Long Island University to form the Roc Nation School of Music, Sports & Entertainment.

LIU reports that the Roc Nation School of Music, Sports & Entertainment “will prepare students for a wide range of careers in performance, entrepreneurship, all aspects of music and sports business management.”

The school will give students the opportunity to receive a well-rounded education by “ensuring they graduate with both hands-on experience and a network of professional contacts” along with lectures from professors and visiting guests. 

Additionally, 25 percent of its enrolled students will be granted a Roc nation Hope Scholarship allowing them to graduate from Roc Nation School of Music, Sports & Entertainment debt-free and receive mentorship along with one-on-one support.

The recipients will be determined based on “a pool of academically competitive, New York based first-time freshmen with the highest need.”

The Roc Nation School of Music, Sports & Entertainment will begin enrolling students for the fall 2021 semester.
