Jamie Foxx is set to star in Dad Stop Embarrassing Me, Netflix’s new comedy sitcom inspired by his relationship with his daughter, Corinne Foxx.
According to Deadline, The Good Doctor‘s Kyla Drew will star in the film as Corinne, alongside David Alan Grier, Silicon Valley actor Porscha Coleman, and Heather Hemmens, best known for her role as Alice Verdura in The CW series Hellcats.
The cast was gearing up to being production in February, just before COVID-19 began to make its devastating impact around the world.
This series marks Foxx’s first return to scripted television since his popular series The Jamie Foxx Show went off the air in 2001 after five seasons, following his role on In Living Color.
Foxx recently starred in Netflix’s Project Power and the legal drama Just Mercy, alongside Michael B. Jordan.
