Earlier this year, a working paper issued by Stanford University suggested that African Americans are audited 3 to 5 times the rate of non-black taxpayers.

This report prompted politicians to pressure the IRS to see if these findings are true.

Monday the IRS confirmed the report that they have a racially biased audit selection system.

In a letter to the US Senate, Commissioner of the IRS Daniel Werfel wrote: “While there is a need for further research, our initial findings support the conclusion that Black taxpayers may be audited at higher rates than would be expected given their share of the population.

This is one of the many reasons why African Americans want reparations.
