The Gabrielle Union/Jessica Alba Bad Boys spinoff L.A.’s Finest is coming back for a second season.
The new on-demand platform, Spectrum Originals, made the announcement Friday, according to Variety.
The show follows Union’s Bad Boys II character, Los Angeles police detective Sydney Burnett, who teams with Nancy McKenna, portrayed by Alba. The duo have been promoting the show this week on a press tour; Gabrielle posted a photo on Instagram of herself and Alba together in Croatia.
The series is returning after production was temporarily shut down in February when executive producers Brandon Margolis and Brandon Sonnier were involved in a car crash on the set. As a result of the accident, Sonnier had a leg amputated.
In addition to Union and Alba, L.A.'s Finest also stars Ernie Hudson, Zack Gilford, Duane Martin, Ben Baines and Ryan McPartlin.
No details were released on when the new season will debut.
Union is also currently serving as a judge on NBC's America’s Got Talent. She recently completed production on the TV movie White Dave about an African-American teenager who was raised in an all-white suburb. After his mom remarries, he has to adjust to living in an all-black neighborhood.
