“The Wire” actor Michael K. Williams died in September, and four people have been arrested in connection with his death as of this writing.
On Wednesday, three of the defendants appeared in court, while a fourth was arrested in Puerto Rico and will appear in court there on Thursday.
A narcotics conspiracy charge has been filed against Irving Cartagena, 39, after authorities allege that he distributed the heroin that killed Marisa Williams. Among those accused of involvement in the alleged conspiracy were Hector Robles (57), Luis Cruz (56), and Carlos Macci (70).
According to court documents, the defendants sold Williams the heroin laced with fentanyl and a fentanyl analogue on or around September 5, 2021, with Cartagena executing the hand-to-hand transaction. A fatal overdose of fentanyl-laced heroin killed Williams.
