Sean “Diddy” Combs wants to send “a clear message” as executive producer of the upcoming film, 2 Distant Strangers.

On Thursday, the music mogul shared the trailer to the movie, which was written and co-directed by Travon Free

“This film truly captures and communicates how the Black community feels everyday in America and hopefully this is the LAST TIME we have to try to explain this to the world!” wrote Diddy in the caption on Instagram, where he posted the trailer.

Diddy said he was “honored” to work with Free, executive producer Van Lathan and the film’s stars, rapper Joey Bada$$ and actor Jessie Williams, whom he called his “brothers.”

“It’s always special when Kings come together to produce greatness. We are so powerful together,” Diddy declared.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, 2 Distant Strangers is a powerful short film that tells “the story of a Black man trying to get home to his dog after spending the night with a woman he has met.”

Joey Bada$$ plays Carter Jones, who is forced to re-live the deadly day “where he is shot, time after time, by a white cop, no matter what he does.” The cop is played by Watchmen star Andrew Howard

2 Distant Strangers was written in five days by Free and Good Will Hunting producer LawrenceBender in July 2020, after the two participated in a number of Black Lives Matter protests after the police killings of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor. Other high-profile executive producers include NBA star Kevin Durant and Utah Jazz player Mike Conley Jr.

A release date for 2 Distant Strangers has yet to be revealed.
