SOUTH FLORIDA SUNDAY WITH BISHOP THOMAS MASTERS

Bishop Masters interviews Sheila Banks on the fifth anniversary of the murder of Corey Jones. Banks, who is Jones’ aunt, says her nonprofit works to support victims’ families. They are fundraising to place a memorial statue in Delray Beach. October 18 has been declared Corey Jones Day in that city.

She discusses the unveiling of the Black Lives Matter memorial parking lot at New Macedonia Baptist Church on October 18. One of the highlights for her is being a part of the event with Dr. Yusef Salaam. Banks is now focusing on encouraging people to vote. She concludes by elaborating on the legacy and impact of the late Senator John Lewis.
