Dear Steve and Shirley, I was in an emotionally abusive marriage for 8 years. I have been divorced for 2 years and I’m trying to get on with my life. My ex-husband talked down to me and called me names but I chalked it up to him being childish and inadequate as a man, so I was able to be friendly towards him for the sake of our 8 year old daughter, until recently. He adores our daughter and he got to keep the house in the divorce because he owned it outright……………….
