The death of another Black man in police custody is getting renewed attention after more than two million people petitioned officials to launch a new investigation. Elijah McClain died nearly a year ago in Aurora, Colorado after he was stopped by police while walking home from the store. The 23-year-old, whose family said he was anemic and often felt cold, was wearing a ski mask, which prompted a passerby to call 911. Like many others, he also pleaded “I can’t breathe.”
