The longtime feud between Kanye West and Drake seems to be heating up again.
Fans believe that the beef was reignited Friday, after Trippie Redd dropped his song “Betrayal” which features the Toronto native. On the track, Drake sings, “All these fools I’m beefin’ that I barely know / Forty-five, forty-four (Burned out), let it go / Ye ain’t changin’ s*** for me, it’s set in stone.”
Given that Ye is 44 years old, many believe that the line was directed toward him and Pusha T, also 44, with whom Drake had a highly public dispute with in 2018.
Following “Betrayal’s” release, the Yeezy founder seemed to hit back by sharing a screenshot of a group chat in a since deleted instagram post captured by TMZ. It showed a meme of Joaquin Phoenix‘s Joker sent by Ye, along with the message, “I live for this. I’ve been f***** with by nerd a** jock [men] like you my whole life. You will never recover. I promise you.”
Who exactly was in the group chat was not confirmed. However, the screenshot revealed eight people were included, and the initial of one of them was D.
Kanye didn’t stop there, though. Later, in another posted-and-deleted Instagram obtained by TMZ, he shared the location of Drake’s Toronto, Ontario property.
It seems the “Laugh Now Cry Later” rapper is unfazed by any of Ye’s tactics, though. On Monday, he took to Instagram Stories to share a video of himself laughing while riding around the Canadian city in a drop top.
Although the two rappers have had issues in the past, Variety speculates that the latest drama may be to hype their highly anticipated forthcoming albums — West’s DONDA and Drake’s Certified Lover Boy — for a chart-topping battle.
