Family, friends, and fans will honor DMX with a public memorial service at the Barclays Center on April 24th, reports Deadline.

The venue, which holds approximately 19,000 people, is also where the late rapper performed in 2019. Capacity will be limited due to COVID-19, though further details, including about tickets, have yet to be revealed. 

Born Earl Simmons, Grammy-nominated rapper and actor DMX died April 9 after suffering a heart attack and spending days on life support at New York’s White Plains Hospital. Months prior, the “Party Up (Up in Here)” rapper mentioned his next album was scheduled to be released this summer, boasting appearances from Alicia Keys, Usher, U2‘s Bono, and more. 

Most recently, X can be heard on the track “Been to War,” featuring French Montana and X’s longtime Ruff Ryders collaborator and friend, Swizz Beatz. The track was featured on the season two soundtrack of the Epix series Godfather of Harlem, starring and executive-produced by Forest Whitaker. 

“It’s an honor to be back with my Godfather of Harlem family,” Swizz said in a statement. “As sweet as the return is, the passing of my brother X weighs heavy on everyone. I hope you can feel his hunger and spirit in ‘Been To War.’ X couldn’t wait for people to hear this. It’s got that same power that made us all believers. I love you, and this is dedicated to you.”
