Demetrius “Lil Meech” Flenory Jr., the son of Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory, has been tapped to star in 50 Cent‘s Black Mafia Family, a series that centers on Flenory’s life.
Starz announced on Wednesday that Flenory Jr. will make his acting debut by playing his father, Big Meech, in the upcoming drama. The gritty new series will tell the real-life story of brothers Flenory Sr. and Terry “Southwest T” Flenory and their journey to become an influential crime family during the 1980s.
Other notable cast additions include All American star Da’Vinchi, who will play Big Meech’s brother, Terry, and Wood Harris, who will play Pat, a revered O.G. who gives Meech and Terry their first shot in the game. In what seems to be somewhat of a family affair, Harris joins his brother, Steve Harris, who was already cast in the series as Detective Bryant.
Tasha Smith has also signed on to direct the first episode and multiple others.
Previously announced cast include series regular Russell Hornsby as Charles Flenory and entertainer Arkeisha “Kash Doll” Knight, who recurs as Monique.
Black Mafia Family has already begun filming in Atlanta and Detroit.
