The city of Delray Beach is asking for volunteers to help a local non-profit distribute free food.
Feeding South Florida, the state’s largest hunger-relief organization, distributes free food to needy families in Delray Beach every Wednesday from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Like many nonprofits, FSF has experienced a surge in demand for its services in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
So, in conjunction with the city of Delray Beach, they have put out a public call for more volunteers.
Volunteers will distribute food at a drive-thru site. They will have no contact with drivers while they load food into the trunks of vehicles. Masks and gloves will be provided for volunteers and social distancing will be observed.
