The deadline is coming up to apply for one-time food assistance through prepaid Visa card.

The Palm Beach County Services Department says assistance is based on household size and maximum amounts, as listed below:

• 1-2 household members: $400
• 3-4 household members: $800
• 5 or more household members: $1,000

Only one prepaid card will be given per household.

Those interested in applying need to provide supporting documentation, like the most recent pay stub, to prove income eligibility and that their household was negatively affected by COVID-19. However, applicants who already applied for rental/utility assistance don’t need to submit any new documents; they just need to apply for food.
